My booking was refused but I was still charged, when will I get my money back?

Light aviation is subject to many constraints such as weather, aircraft availability and aircraft mechanical inputs. These constraints are largely out of our control and can occasionally cause flight refusals.

Moreover, it is important to know that Wingly pilots are not Wingly employees, they are private pilots who fly for pleasure on their own free time in order to make you discover the magic of flying. That is why it is possible that their schedule may change at the last moment and they may have to refuse the flight.

In the case of booking refusal, the time taken to receive your money depends on the method of payment:

If you paid by credit card, it is simply a pre-authorisation that is showing on your account, which has now been cancelled. As the booking was not accepted, the money was not actually charged from the account and the pre-authorisation should disappear within the next few days.

If you paid by PayPal, the refund is now being processed and will be back in your account within 48 hours.

If you paid by Gift Card, the Gift Card will automatically be re-credited with the full amount.

If you still do not see the pre-authorisation disappear within 72 hours of your booking being refused or there seems to be an abnormally long delay in receiving your refund, please contact us directly at or by phone on +44 1905 57 0566.
