If you wish to allow your pilots to use the Wingly, we can provide a sample email and form that can be filled in by those pilots wishing to use Wingly. This will give you a summary of those pilots looking to sign up to the platform and allow you to easily accept or reject pilots’ requests to use Wingly.

If you do wish to allow your club members to use Wingly, you are more than welcome to use the sample text below. Alternatively, feel free to write your own!

As you will likely be aware, legally allowed by both the CAA and EASA, in recent times flight-sharing has become well established in the UK’s general aviation scene. We have therefore decided to authorise the flight sharing platform, Wingly and allow members to use club aircraft for Wingly flights.

By allowing the club’s members to use the free-to-use flight sharing platform, you will be able to split flight costs, which may well assist in enabling you to fly more often and stay current. The hourly costs of aircraft when using Wingly for your flying will be significantly reduced for those that wish to use their service being able to fly for 1/3 or 1/4 of the cost. This coming in addition to introducing people to aviation through the club, perhaps leading them to undergo formal flight training with us and join the club themselves.

In addition, Wingly has also signed a safety charter with EASA and are also well supported by organisations abroad such as France’s Fédération Francaise Aéronautique (the body that represents the majority of France’s flying clubs) as well as the civil aviation authorities of France and Germany. You can find the CAA’s guidance regarding cost-sharing here: https://www.caa.co.uk/General-aviation/Aircraft-ownership-and-maintenance/Cost-sharing-flights/
Should you wish to take advantage of the cost-sharing scheme, please do come speak with me to be approved individually.
